Kid Cudi's 'Pursuit of Happiness'
This video uses This music video has inspired our group to produce a party scene for our music video. It inspired us because our song is an upbeat young teenage song about them leaving to university. As most people have a massive party before they leave, we decided to look for music video which contains scene of partying but still links with the lyrics. This song does this effectively and it was a good inspiration for us and it will influence how our muisc video will be like.
The shots, effects and the mise-en-scene used in this video also gave us inspiration to what could be in our video. Kid Cudi's video has a variety of shots and effects which increases the interest of the video. throughout the whole video, it seemed to e slowed down giving the sense of him being the odd one out so this gave us a good idea to either slow it down to give a sense of drunkness or to keep it the same speed to make it seem normal. But it has influenced the video we are going to produce.
Justin beiber - 'beauty and the beat' This music video was very similar however it was much more colourful which we think is really in keeping with our song. The hang over
This trailer has inspired us greatly to also go with the theme of having a great night partying but it differs to the previous inspiration 'Pursuit of Happiness', as it shows the after effects of the partying. By seeing this trailer we were inspired to do a party scene but in the middle of the song, change to the aftermath of the party (hangover). This linked well to the lyrics and it should look good in our music video if it is done properly.
From both of us watching the movie, we know what shots and effects will look effective and will be capable of doing. Shots such as close ups will work effectively as it will show different people's emotions and as well long shot will look good also as it will show the whole scene easily. In the film 'Hangover', these shots are very common thorughout and it has influenced are decisions on which shots will be used often.
