Post-Modernism

Post-modernism is used to describe anything which has become an established idea with clear conventions which has then been changed and shaken up to look culturally avante garde in an old school.

Post-modernism is part of a cycle which starts at the experimental stage where new trends are established. Next the cannon, where the trends pic up and become defined and fixed. Finally it becomes post-modern, which then adds another element/idea and changed how the idea is seen, therefore becoming experimental again and branching off into smaller experimental groups.

Post-modernism is also seen in intertextuality as the idea of re-using existing and old ideas and images and remaking them can be seen as post modern.
 'Robbie williams-let me entertain you' takes image ans style refrences from the 70's rock band Kiss by using similar costume, hair and makeup to recreate the image of band memeber gene simmons. Robbie williams was using this style to recreate himslef as an artist and take the influences from rock music and  add it to his own style.
